Corey Brinkmeyer

Linn Mar High School
Corey’s entrepreneurial fire was stoked in 2017, when he was introduced to Design Thinking and the Business Model Canvas during the BizInnovator training; he has been teaching Entrepreneurship at Linn-Mar since 2008. As a self-described “Teacherpreneur”, he used BizInnovator with his students to help develop theROARstore, Linn-Mar’s student-run enterprise, which recently took over all merchandising for the 12th largest school district in Iowa. Students who operate theROARstore are concurrently enrolled in a 9-week course led by Brinkmeyer, which focuses on the operations of their brick & mortar, stadium, mobile, and online stores, while learning about customer service and sales skills. He has shared his experiences with teachers through his podcast Now Open: The Journey of a School-Based Enterprise. Before starting the store, Brinkmeyer was also a CTSO adviser at Linn-Mar, which has a long-standing Future Business Leaders of America chapter. With his strong marketing and technology background, Corey was a natural fit to join the BizInnovator Startup team and is responsible for the unified look of the revamped curriculum.
